Humanity has been rising. Rising higher – above nature, above the Earth.

The modern world connected us to the machine, the internet, social media. But in the process of faster technology promising to connect us to each other, we disconnected to our souls, our human hearts and the Earth who gives us our very life.

But no matter how high we wanted to rise – conquer the Earth, Moon, Mars, yes, all of the universe we wanted to understand in one equation – eventually the staircase leading up to our castle of illusions of endless economic growth, material progress through exploitation of the earth and all her creatures – will crumble beneath us.

We might still attempt to repair the staircase leading up to the castle, but sooner or later we will have to face the truth, that it was indeed an illusion. This planet is not a pile of resources we can keep taking from without consequences. She is alive and the more we try to rob her off her sacredness, we also rob our very own souls. Eventually we will have to face the root of our suffering.

We live in a time where we have the most powerful weapons of destruction, but where is the true power of knowing oneself, knowing the land and the other creatures we share it with? A power that can create healthy families, and bring nourishing food to the table of our loved ones. A power that can unite and heal. Indigenous knowledge brushed away as primitive, while leaders of the modern world keep throwing bombs at each other.

When the spiralling of greed and blindness to the living spirit of this Earth creates endless wars and hostility towards each other, there is no common ground to stand on, because we are fighting in the illusionary realms, not grounded in the reality that we are all made of the same flesh and blood. The staircase breaks, and we are falling. Falling towards what seems as an unknown destination. What is even real? Where do we go from here?

There is only one place where we can land. Through force of gravity, she pulls us towards her and we fall back into the arms of our mother – Earth. She gave birth to us, she’s seen us grow, run away from her in rebellious adolescence, and she will see us grow old. Because if we want to live, we have to live in harmony with her. There is no one else in this whole vast universe who will feed us when we are hungry, give us water when we are thirsty, shelter when we are cold.

This is the story of my new album “The Fall”. I hope it finds a place to resonate in you. Close your eyes, and listen. Thank you.
